Power Delivery is a fast charging technology. It’s integrated into some of the latest smartphones, tablets and laptops and enables your mobile device to charge faster within a short amount of time. A standard charging cable delivers up to 5W of power which can take on average up to 3 hours to reach a full battery. With PD you can boost the power to up to 60W and almost halve that time. In order for Power Delivery to work and to reach your device’s maximum potential charging rate a PD compatible cable and charger are required.

Every device has a maximum power input, however with PD devices you can safely use a power supply and cable that can support a much higher level of power than your device can handle safely, because PD intelligently adjusts the power output from your wall charger to enable your device to safely charge at its maximum rate and no higher. For example, you can safely charge your phone from your PD laptop power supply.
